New business (events) vibes at iconic music venue

At the iconic music venue Hotel Cecil, the past Copenhagen Jazzhouse, it was time for a change of tune, and the news about some freshly developed and incredibly creative meeting and event spaces desperately needed telling.

Challenge

These days, Hotel Cecil is much more than an esteemed concert venue located in historic settings in the heart of Copenhagen. Here, you see, it is also possible to stage professional meetings and events in rooms oozing of a distinctive vibe - but the information about this new and unique meeting product was well and truly hidden away on the venue’s then website.

Insights

The old saying ’Nobody’s ever become famous by being a well-kept secret’ was particularly indicative of this project. So, we decided to put spotlight on Hotel Cecil’s novel meeting and event products, accentuate the information, and make it easily accessible for its digital users.

Solution

We created a new narrative about the venue’s brilliant meeting and events concept. Now the focus has shifted to communicating about how to stage professional meetings and events in a highly creative space, and we decided to highlight this in, among other things, an evocative video inviting potential clients behind the scenes as the staff at Hotel Cecil prepare for an evening opening - with rhythmic tunes in the background.

 

With a nod to Hotel Cecil’s past glory as an international Jazz house, and to its fine traces of Art Deco in its unique interior, this venue really does hit matchless tunes. And it is precisely these characteristics, that we’ve chosen to apply on the venue’s new landing page design. Classic, yet with its unique visual identity in view, the landing page now emphasises Hotel Cecil’s DNA as well as its exciting and diverse meeting spaces and event formats. The information is now both accessible and visible, and the site’s usability-score has improved significantly too.
